Built in memory to the Pakistan Resolution. About as tall as my dorm was last year. 200 feet or so.

Shalimar Gardens. Lahore, Pakistan.
Today we were at Shalimar Gardens. This is the most beautiful place I’ve personally visited. I’ll post more about it in the coming days.

So I’m a little sick and I’m falling behind on updating.

This is the main street of Taxila, a two century old city. It was rebuilt three times due to earthquakes, and began as Taksula (city of snakes), but after rebuilding it with “earthquake proof” formations in the walls, they renamed it Taxila (city of stone).

So, while I wait for pictures to upload, I figured I’d start with some basic, random things. 


 

This is most of my direct family here, only missing my grandma. From left back to right front it is my oldest cousin Jehanzeb, my youngest cousin Yousuf, my dad, my uncle Haroon (taiya), me (in a shalwar kameez, we’ll talk about that later), my aunt Ruby (taiyee) and my middle cousin Faiza. This was taken in the ancient ruins of Taxila atop one of the many Buddhist shrines.
